Top hotels in the Marshall Islands are all about giving their customers the finest experience possible, and as such, you’ll want to do your research before making your reservations to ensure that you pick the right hotel for your stay in this beautiful part of the world. Luckily, we’ve already done all of the research for you, and we’re here to present you with our list of the top 10 hotels in the Marshall Islands in 2022. So without further ado, let’s jump right into our list!
1: The Rongelap Atoll
The Rongelap Atoll is one of three atolls that make up Rongelap Atoll and are part of a larger chain called Ratak. The other two atolls are Toke and Ailinglaplap. The islands were first inhabited by Micronesians in 1000 BCE, but they fled after they were attacked by warriors from Tongkoo Island, an island northwest of Tamaraw. The islands were not recolonized until 1775 when an unknown number of people moved to Rongelap Atoll. After World War II, some of those living on Rongelap were exposed to radioactive fallout due to nuclear testing that was conducted on nearby Bikini Atoll.
2: Bikini Atoll
Visitors come to Bikini Atoll to swim, snorkel, and scuba dive among some of Earth’s most pristine marine environments. But also be aware that some of Bikini’s beaches are still affected by nuclear fallout from past U.S. atomic tests, which occurred between 1946 and 1958. Visitors are warned not to eat fish that may have been exposed to radiation or sand that may have radioactive residue from testing (at one point, topsoil was removed from certain islands). As with any travel destination, check with your doctor before heading out on vacation if you’ve recently had surgery or a medical treatment involving radioactive material.
3: Majuro
At Aqua View Beach Resort and Spa, guests can enjoy a number of water sports, including snorkeling, windsurfing, and scuba diving. The hotel also has a sun deck with an open-air Jacuzzi, an outdoor pool, and several restaurants. On top of all that, there is a 24-hour room service. At press time, room rates at Aqua View ranged from $85 to $319 per night. Laundry service and babysitting are available for a fee.
4: Ebeye Island
Luxury, Laid-Back: People come to Ebeye Island for two things: comfort and relaxation. Expect rooms with a laid-back ambiance and furnishings that feature tropical themes. Those who like it fancy will enjoy Ebeye’s luxury suite options as well. To really relax, check out one of Ebeye’s many spas where you can enjoy a soothing massage or body treatment. At night, dine at any one of Ebeye’s numerous fine restaurants. You may even be able to catch some live entertainment while you eat! Regardless of what brings you to Ebeye Island, expect a relaxing time when you stay at any one of its top hotels!
5: Wotje Atoll
Wotje Atoll is a beautiful chain of islands and coral reefs featuring a collection of hotels that are some of our most highly rated in all of Asia. Wotje Atoll offers a unique opportunity to experience some fairly rare wildlife including sea turtles, dolphins, and humpback whales. Although there are not many tourists on Wotje Atoll, you’ll still be treated to fine dining options, relaxing spas, and plenty of incredible beaches. Of course, there’s also plenty to do here; snorkeling is incredibly popular as is scuba diving and swimming with sea turtles.
6: Jaluit Atoll
Jaluit Atoll is a beautiful destination that hosts many tourists each year. The location has an underwater National Marine Sanctuary, a rich history, and is one of the best diving spots on Earth. The area also hosts several shipwrecks from World War II as well as dozens of downed aircraft. There are no trees or fresh water on Jaluit Atoll, but there are plenty of things to do for fun and recreation such as hiking, exploring historic sites, and swimming. It’s easy to travel to the top hotels in the Marshall Islands without ever leaving Jaluit Atoll; simply book flights or take your own plane to another island nearby if you have your own plane.
7: Likiep Atoll
Likiep Atoll is a small coral atoll of 21 islands in south-eastern Ratak (but politically part of Temotu Province) of the Solomon Islands, about 200 km northeast of Suva, Fiji. It is within Lata Municipality. The most prominent island is Mana. Likiep Atoll has a population of 2,000 people and 700 households with an area of 290 square kilometers (111 sq mi).
8: Ailinglaplap Atoll
If you’re traveling to Majuro, head to Ailinglaplap Atoll, where The Residence sits right on Ailinglaplap Island. This resort hotel offers one of The Ritz-Carlton’s most secluded locations; you’ll be surrounded by turquoise waters and tropical fish, so it feels like your own private island for a few days. Make sure to check out The Residence’s spa and wellness services. Guests here use fresh, local fruits and vegetables as ingredients in treatments.
10 : Lib Island, Enewetak Atoll
It’s easy to see why many of our number-one choices are located on isolated islands: they’re truly extraordinary. Hotel Lib, located near Enewetak Atoll, is one such hotel, and it offers guests what we believe is something that no other hotel can: a direct connection with nature. Surrounded by its own reef system, Lib Island is a remote property where you’ll feel like you’re discovering new species every day. Come for an up-close view of spinner dolphins and then take your pick from one of four overwater rooms or five beachfront bungalows—the only thing separating you from these breathtaking views will be floor-to-ceiling windows.
